How to apply for Full Membership - Paid for Life

Full Membership is open to practicing Buddhists who have taken the Three Refuges and the Five Precepts. You can take the precepts in person with the Spiritual Director, Ajahn Brahm, Abbott of Bodhinyana Monastery, or the Assistant Spiritual Director, Ajahn Hasapanna, Abbott of Dhammasara Monastery, or other delegated member of the Sangha of the BSWA. If you are unable to do so, you may click here to take the precepts online or at an upcoming Vesak event. . After taking the precepts, please complete application with the relevant information.

If you have not reached the age of 18 years, you are only eligible to become a Youth member. Please apply for BSWA Youth Membership.

The lifetime membership fee of $1300 applies to both Associate and Full Lifetime Memberships. An Associate membership can be upgraded to Full at any time at no extra cost.

Please feel free to contact us at memberships@bswa.org should you require further assistance in applying for membership.

IMPORTANT: Your Full Membership will become fully active only once the application has been approved by the Committee at the next Committee Meeting, which is held several times a year. This will only affect the use of your membership for voting and election purposes. Other uses of your membership (such as for booking retreats and borrowing books) are now available to you. In the unlikely event that your membership is not approved by the committee, we will contact you and issue you a full refund.
